If I could pick a theme for this project, it's "summer doesn't last forever". We can all use reminders of that in these hot July days. I am especially looking forward to fall this year since I missed it last year and am currently finishing my 15th consecutive month of summer weather. Spending the winter in the Dominican Republic may sound really tropical and exciting, but it made me realize how much I love the cold weather and the change in seasons.
But I digress...this post is about my latest knitting project, a baby blanket for Lil' Bit. Lil' Bit's Mom shares my feelings about summer. And she has to spend the hot summer being pregnant, which can't be very comfortable. Since Lil' Bit's gender will be a surprise until he/she arrives , I chose some gender neutral, fall colors. The blanket is also knit with 100% Peruvian wool, which is so very fall and not summer at all.
I enjoyed knitting another blanket from triangles up and this pattern is super simple. It's so easy that you don't even have to count rows, just knit until you finish the colors. Find my project on Ravelry or check out the designer's blog with the instructions.
Here's to one more month of summer. And please remind me of how I was begging for cooler temperatures when I'm enduring the winter in Boston this year...
