It seems like all I've been knitting lately are baby blankets...the Twin Leaf Baby Blanket, the Basketweave Baby Blanket, the Sand Cable Baby Blanket... After all of these baby blankets, it was so nice to knit something fast and easy!
I had some extra yarn in my stash from this baby blanket (shocker, another baby blanket!) and I decided to make a quick hat with the leftover yarn since it's so soft and feels great against the skin. The yarn (Knit Picks Shine Worsted) is the same yarn used in the Sand Cable Baby Blanket.
One thing to be aware of (that I also mentioned on Ravelry) is that the hat may turn out too short if you follow the pattern exactly. I have a big head and had to repeat the lace pattern one more time to get the correct length. It's a little tight for my head, but still fits. I think I would cast on more stitches if I made it again.
Wondering what's next on Painting Lilies now that I'm taking a break from knitting baby blankets?
I roasted about 6 pumpkins this week, so I'll be sharing some pumpkin extravaganza recipes here next week.
I also visited the yarn store yesterday and cast on some chunky yarn for a cowl that I'm pretty excited about. I'm going to be posting quick and easy knitting / crochet patterns for those of you who want to start making holiday gifts!
